_thinkMake Week-4:Active engagement in the space

 We’ve started our week- 4 (13th October ) with a regular class. And finished it up with a lot to catch up on. Before we came for the class we had homework to read a story called “Feminist” and were asked to pick seven words from the story. Tactic, Focus, Marginalisation, Form, Manifest, poetics, and Ontology are the words that I’ve chosen. 

At the beginning of our class, two of our classmates presented the story. To be honest it was fruitful. The way they thought about this story was outstanding. It helps me to open up my mind as well from different perspectives. 


Here comes the fun season. We’re asked to inhale our surroundings for 2 minutes. And then start drawing with closed eyes. And this is what I drew in that 5 minutes I got.


When I closed my eyes I could sense those tables all around me so I tried to draw them on the paper. There was a constant sound of sketching from other students I could hear them so I tried to draw the sound map that continues the line I was getting. As the room itself was covered 2 on its side with full-height glass there were a lot of lights coming from outside and I could sense it even with my closed eyes so I tried to put those rays in my sketches. And there was a time I felt someone going outside and coming back while the door was making sounds and footsteps as well. Although I wasn't sure about the direction of it I did put it on my sketch. I heard from the corner that I sat a couple of people were outside and gossiping which I put on my sketch as well. 



And then we were asked to pick 3 words that we liked from those 7 words we chose before. And we were asked to perform wordplay as a group of 3 members.  The subject of our play was those 9 words combining 3 of us. We did some movement throughout the room, we tried to create a statue with chairs, and we also made a boundary using those chairs we stayed in that boundary. There was a word “To Believe “ which I acted there. It was quite fun in this whole season. 



Now we are in the last stage of our class. Every one of us was asked to recreate the room where we had our class. And I came up with the idea of a personal sitting space. This is what I create.










I thought about it as a cozy sitting area as it has two open spaces with full-height glass from where a lot of daylight can enter the room. I tried to put minimum furniture as I just had a small sofa and hanging a couple of paintings by the famous painter Monet. I have put a canvas for painting on the north face of the room. Cause the light will enter from the north end is perfect for painting. On the west-facing wall window flows intense sunlight which is why I put a lot of high indoor plants so that it can cover up the intense sunlight. 








Then I worked on the ceiling. There is a roof window right in the middle of the room which I will replace with steel or a piece of tin. Cause I wanted to invite nature in this room. While there will be rain the people inside this room can hear the sound of rain because of it. And this is what I proposed with my drawing.
